Floral Meanders on the Noteć — audience award at the Czarnków Flower Festival

On 10 August 2024 the floristry competition “Kwiatowe meandry nad Notecią” (Floral Meanders on the Noteć) took place in the market square in Czarnków, as part of the 4th Flower Festival, held from 9 to 11 August alongside the Days of the Czarnków Land. I competed in a two-person team with Magdalena Piekarska — and it was our piece that the public chose for the audience award.

We took the theme literally: a river flows through the installation. Mossy branch arches bend like the meanders of the Noteć, beneath them lies a blue boat on a sheet, surrounded by river stones and sand, and we planted the metal hoops with gladioli, alstroemerias, purple orchids and strelitzias. Wire dragonflies hover above it all.
