The 50th Rose Festival in Kutno — an English garden by the pond in Traugutt Park

Traugutt Park, Kutno Events

At the organisers' invitation I worked in the florist team decorating the jubilee 50th Rose Festival in Kutno: on the installation “In an English Garden” in Traugutt Park and on floral creations for the show.

The jubilee 50th Rose Festival (Święto Róży) took place in Kutno from 6 to 8 September 2024. It was organised by the Town of Kutno, the Kutno Cultural Centre and the Polish Rose Society, and its floral setting was created by a team of 65 florists. I joined it at the organisers' invitation. Each group was given a theme recalling one of the festival's earlier editions.

I worked in the team of Joanna Kiedacz and Marta Raczyńska-Barczak. Our theme, “In an English Garden”, went back to the 2016 edition “In Mr Shakespeare's Garden”. Above the pond in Traugutt Park we built a structure of branches and willow from which cascades of red amaranthus and hops flowed down. Beneath it grew a relaxed, romantic garden of delphiniums, hydrangeas and grasses, and on the water we placed the “Romeo i Julia” boat and white swans. I also worked on flower-decorated creations for the show “A rose has many names” (Róża niejedno ma imię), which opened the festival on Piłsudski Square.

In the photos: preparations at the Kutno Cultural Centre and in the park, the finished garden by the pond, floral creations and group photos of the florists. Photos: Kutno Cultural Centre.
