Książ of Masters — 35th Flower and Art Festival at Książ Castle

Książ Castle, Wałbrzych Events

As a volunteer florist I helped with the 35th Flower and Art Festival “Książ of Masters”, for which around a hundred florists turned the castle rooms, courtyards and underground passages into floral stories about masters of various crafts.

From 30 April to 4 May 2025 Książ Castle in Wałbrzych hosted the 35th Flower and Art Festival under the motto “Książ Mistrzów” (Książ of Masters). The arrangements were created by four teams of florists — the Polish Florists' Association, the International Floristry Institute, Maciej Krzus's Master School of Floristry and the Lower Silesian School Complex in Jawor — around a hundred people in total. The displays told stories of masters of various crafts; in the public vote, “Master of Beekeeping” and “Master of Confectionery” won.

I helped with the preparations on 27 and 28 April as a volunteer florist. We unloaded deliveries of flowers and branches, assembled structures of roots and branches in the courtyard, a tunnel of golden frames in the corridor and installations underground, while the rooms filled with floral cakes, fireplaces full of leaves and butterflies, and flower costumes.

In the photos: deliveries, work in the castle rooms, in the courtyard and underground, and the finished arrangements.
