Floral Designer in Split
Diocletian's Palace, Split (Croatia) Events
With the Floral Designer group of the International Floristry Institute we created an installation of flower parachutes in the cellars of Diocletian's Palace for the 49th Praznik cvijeća in Split.
In March 2026 we once again travelled to Split with the International Floristry Institute (Międzynarodowy Instytut Florystyczny) — this time with the Floral Designer group. It is the Institute's course for floristry masters: four-day sessions every two months that spark creativity and refine advanced techniques, and sometimes end with an artistic challenge just like this one. For the 49th Praznik cvijeća — a flower festival that filled the Riva, Voćni trg and the cellars of Diocletian's Palace from 20 to 29 March — we prepared two large projects, and World Champion Tomasz Max Kuczyński also gave a special floristry show.
The theme of this edition was Croatian inventions. Our group was given a long corridor, where we suspended structures inspired by parachutes — it was Faust Vrančić (1551–1617) who designed the first parachute prototype. Cascades of orchids, lilies and red flowers flowed beneath white and blue canopies, and beds of gerberas filled the floor.
The arrangement was led by Zygmunt Sieradzan, and I worked in his team together with Dominika Wolna, Iwona Dombek, Beata Lemańska, Izabela Jaworska-Koch, Eliza Weber, Katarzyna Ernst and Elżbieta Bujak.
